First Mate is a consultancy company within the hospitality, foodservice-, and leisure industry. First Mate deploys her specialist knowledge of these industries for entrepreneurs, businesses, organisations and institutions who are operating in or connected to these industries. First Mate researches, advises, designs concepts and guides parties on strategic, tactical and operational level. First Mate does this by the use of expert advisors, experienced interim- and project managers and making use of her large and relevant network of entrepreneurs and suppliers.

The operations within First Mate can be divided into three groups:

1. Placemaking
Based on consumer behaviour, data and knowledge and experience within First Mate, futureproof hospitality-, foodservice-, leisure- and retail concepts are developed for developers, real-estate owners, operators, and businesses.

2. Matchmaking
By means of a structured process and the use of First Mate’s network, the right hospitality- and catering organisations, and hospitality professionals are connected to real-estate parties, operators, facility management and administrators within the hospitality-, foodservice-, and leisure industry.

3. Consultancy
First Mate advises organisations within and around the real-estate-, hospitality-, foodservice-, and leisure industry with issues on strategic, tactical and operational level. The knowledge and experience of First Mate, research and concrete data will shape the basis of future proof advises.

During your internship you will learn how to become a consultant within aforementioned industries. Your largest role will be to research about market developments, financial analyses and you will have a pioneering role in making beautiful and creative reports.
